A technical survey is built on data. A crack can be measured. A damp wall can be quantified. The fall of a terrace can be surveyed. A surface temperature can be read. Without these figures, an opinion is just an opinion, and an opinion can be argued over indefinitely.
We therefore document every case with the readings appropriate to the defect: crack width and depth, moisture content of materials, surface temperatures, flatness and levels, drainage falls, pipe sections and gradients, and checks at critical waterproofing points.
This data serves two purposes. It allows us to identify the cause with a high degree of certainty. It also allows a defect to be tracked over time, which is often the only way to tell an active movement from one that has stopped.
