Our role beside you
A construction case is rarely won on legal grounds alone. What matters is what actually happened on site, in what order, and who failed to meet their obligations. That is the work we carry out alongside you.
We act as technical expert for law firms in Luxembourg, before and during proceedings. Our expert is sworn in by the Superior Court of Justice and the Ministry of Justice, which gives his findings the weight courts expect.
You gain a shared language between your client, the opposing party and the court: dated facts, reasoned causes and a defensible cost assessment.
Situations where we step in
- Preliminary opinion on the merits: before starting proceedings, we assess the technical strength of the file and the weak points of the opposing argument.
- Assistance during court-appointed expertise: we attend the expert meetings, prepare your submissions and identify gaps in the ongoing report.
- Counter-expertise: where an opposing report is questionable, we review its method, measurements and conclusions point by point.
- Handover and reservations: analysis of handover records, the clearing of reservations and compliance with good building practice.
- Quantifying the loss: estimate of repair costs, replacement works and consequential damage.
How the assessment works
Reviewing the file
We examine the documents: contract, drawings, minutes, correspondence with the contractor and reports already produced.
Site inspection
Findings are recorded on site, where possible with all parties present, with measurements and dated photographs.
Technical analysis
We compare the findings with good building practice, applicable standards and contract documents to establish the causes.
A usable report
You receive a structured, sourced and costed report, written to be filed and discussed in hearing.
The expert report
The report follows a constant structure: brief, documents examined, findings, analysis of causes, technical responsibilities, costs and conclusions. Every statement refers back to a finding or a document.
It is issued in French, German or English as the proceedings require, and can be completed by a technical note answering the opposing party's submissions.
